BDS Maschinen GmbH or in English BDS Machines is a leading manufacturer of magnetic drilling machines, plate beveling machines, and annular cutters. Located in the city of Mönchengladbach, Germany all BDS products are made in Germany in our state of the art factory. BDS currently has a distribution network in more than 80 countries worldwide, but India was one of our latest addition to this distribution network. Simply better drilling! is our motto. BDS entered the potential market of India in the year of 2013, which was already very late. The main challenge for us in India was the buying power of the customers i.e. the price. Indian market needs the lowest price possible b ut without compromising with the good quality. In time we understood the needs of the Indian market as well the style of business and pricing importance. Within a few months BDS products got very popular in India and accepted by the customers. Our company was overwhelmed by the response of the Indian customer and started to plan to set up a factory in India. This would have helped us minimize the as high as 28% import custom cost and 15% freight cost from Germany to India which ultimately the end-user customer had to bear. Manufacturing our products in India and selling them in India would be a win-win situation from all. We were then in regular contact with the Make in India program, but unfortunately it did not work out for us. We were a lot disappointed because our dream to manufacture in India was not looking so promising. But long story short, we worked hard, did not let our dream fade away and in time came in contact with the right people, right partners, and right employees who all shared the same dream, and today, we have our first machine model 100% Made in India.
